OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Sparrow Music was founded by individuals who share a common bond: a passion for music, a compassion and love for under privileged and impoverished children and an even greater love for God. This love for God has manifested into a burden for missions and a strong desire to share God’s love and His Word with the children and youth living in the most repressed areas. It is our vision to bring the hope of the Gospel to these children through music.
The purpose of Sparrow Music, Inc. is to glorify God by fulfilling the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:36-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) through:
EVANGELISM/MISSION – “To share the good news of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible in our community and throughout the world.” Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, 2 Peter 3:9)
EDUCATION – “To help members develop toward full Christian maturity and train them for effective ministry. To promote personal, spiritual growth and discipleship through Bible teaching.” (Ephesians 4:11-13, Matthew 18:21, Timothy 2:2)
WORSHIP – “To participate in public worship services together and to maintain personal daily devotions.” (John 4:24)
MINISTRY/SERVICE - “To serve unselfishly, in Jesus” name meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those in our organization, community and in the world.” (1 Peter 4:10-11, Matthew 24:34-40, 1 Thessalonians 5:11, Galatians 5:13)
FELLOWSHIP – “To encourage, support and pray for each other as members of the family of God. To share our lives together.” (1 John 1:7, Acts 2:44-47, Hebrews 10:23-25, Romans 15:5-7, John 13:34-35
THE MEANING BEHIND OUR NAME
It’s hard to think of a more diminutive or unimposing creature than the sparrow. But if God cares about even a creature as humble as the sparrow, doesn’t it follow that His love for the human beings He created would be infinitely greater? The following Bible verse is the cornerstone of our organization:
“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten in God’s sight.” Luke 12:6
What this verse means to us is that we are more valuable to God than anything. Regardless of our lack of wealth and status in life, we are all equally worthy and significant in His eyes, and thus demonstrating His love when He sent His son to die for us on the cross.
